    So if sharks are changing their hunting spots that easily and quickly, other places that have been free of sharks before are about to be visited, with an unprepared population of seals, swimmers or surfers maybe. Those floppy fins are usually a sign of bad circulation thanks to lack of exersise, I thought. Is it known how old these half brothers are? Are they just praying on easy targets because they are incapacitated? Like the 60 year old matriarch. Where did she learn the trick from to turn a shark over on its back???

    • @KPassionate
      @KPassionate 19 часов назад

      Their dorsal fins are made of fibrous connective tissue, with no bone, cartilage, or muscle to hold them up. We don't 100% know why dorsal fins collapse but it is believed to be genetic because dorsal fin abnormalities occur at higher rates than normal in specific family groups. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a sign of health or wellbeing and it is not caused by a lack of exercise. Port and Starboard are believed to be in their early 20s. As for how they learned to flip a shark on it's back, killer whales are very intelligent and social. When one learns a new trick they often share and teach it to others in their pod through social learning. I go more in depth on their social learning in my video on the Iberian orcas who have taught each other how to disable ships by attacking the rudders.

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is the orcas going "Ok, we have this whole place full of inexperienced fatty seals to ourselves.... let's annilihale our teeth going after one organ inside a prey animal that can hurt us back if we are unlucky"

    I think you're right, I've been watching different 'talking button' videos for dogs and cats, and almost all of them seemed straight forward responses, that is, cause and effect, much the same as if a person was talking to them. I had two cats for almost 20 years and could get a good feeling about what they needed; when one cat died the other cat needed to look into every cabinet and high shelf to see if Boris was there. And when he found he wasn't there, could relax somewhat, so I know animals have layers and can grasp time when they are left alone, but Bunny fascinated me because of the 'sideways' aspect in how the dog communicated, like it was struggling to ''learn' but what you described makes more sense in a spiritual way too. Animals can talk, no doubt about it, and they are part of a group soul, but I do not believe God would give them a kind of self awareness that would become torture to them, it's tough enough being a sentient being. And so thank you for going out on a limb and addressing an aspect I didn't even consider. It needed to be done. That mirror was a set up, and if that was set up it puts the rest in doubt as well. Thanks!

    Imagine extra terrestrial beings coming down and visiting humans, they are peaceful. curious, speak another language and are as intelligent if not more than we are. They understand the secrets within the dimension that they come from , they have completely mastered the realm in which they naturally reside in. We figure out and decipher the language barrier and what they then begin to share with us about “outer space” confirms beliefs we have held about space and also disproves theories we have had about space. Because we have deciphered and developed a working interpretation and successfully coalesced both our languages, this breakthrough between species now reveals info about space that we have had no clue about. These aliens would have a deep culture of learning, extended family groups and would be looked at by humans as equal in many ways as far as culture , traditions, and intelligent comprehension of the world around them. Imagine the possibilities of these two distinct races collaborating to unveil a communion and sharing of COMPLETELY different cultures. Now forget that they are aliens from outer space because that is what we have with these cetaceans. Exactly that in fact. If we are considered the dominant intelligent being on land. ( although whats happening politically, I use that term lightly). Then Orcas is just that for the sea. If that was possible and I believe it is a worthy endeavor , can you imagine “working with and speaking to these beings! The kingdom of land and the kingdom of the sea communicating! Im fairly certain there would be many complaints about what we have done to their kingdom tho and I’m fairly certain that they would demand for their imprisoned family members be released. Extra terrestrial is automatically assumed to be from space and yet we have them here in a space much less known about than the space above us. They are a race of intelligent extraterrestrial beings in our midst and yet taken for granted and seen as simply just another animal for our use and entertainment. Sadly if this race actually did come from outer space, some of mankind would probably capture them and put them on display simply for $$$. Makes you wonder about mankinds intelligence and priorities as an entire culture. Do you remember the HUMAN pygmy man that was captured and put in a zoo to be displayed for $$$ back in the 1800’s This is a testament of Lands most intelligent being. Maybe we can gain wisdom from the rulers of the Seas.

      Recent studies have found that marine mammals in zoos and aquariums live longer, healthier, and happier lives than their wild counterparts. [1] species360.org/2023/10/marine-mammal-longevity-study-reveals-remarkable-advances-in-animal-welfare/ Accredited zoos and aquariums carry out thousands of research and conservation projects every year, half of which are field projects in over 80 countries. WAZA accredited facilities spend nearly 350 million US dollars every year on conservation and research, making zoos and aquariums the third largest contributor to conservation in the world. [6] www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/11/161107112635.htm If you're interested, I found this article from the Center for the Environment and Welfare particularly enlightening because it debunks a lot of misconceptions about zoos and aquariums, discusses a lot of the benefits of these facilities, and backs up all their arguments with data from published research. KP - Do you think they might just be teaching the kids (using the unfortunate sailboat's rudder) how to flip a shark over onto it's back by grabbing the pectoral fin (as you described in another video)? Less risk than practicing on a great white. Don't they also teach the kids how to partially beach?

    • @KPassionate

      Each orca type has a preferred prey. The Iberian orcas don't eat sharks. Their preferred prey is tuna. The ones who partially beach themselves are found in Patagonia. Those are Antarctic type A ecotypes and they exclusively eat marine mammals like seals and sea lions.
